Makoto is a former high school baseball player. One day, he gets a phone call saying, 'I want you to go to Mongolia to teach baseball and produce a professional player'. Makoto accepts the mission rather lightly. But the reality is not so sweet. In Mongolia, baseball is a sport of capitalism, and people don't know about the sport at all. Makoto finds some Mongolian players, but their skills are poor. Non-baseball-related problems are also caused by the director of boxer , Magwa, who is a peculiar ex-army, an ex-player and present director of volleyball, Tomendelgel, and a mysterious baseball chairman. Makoto is faced with various problems.Moreover, the severe Mongolian environment and societal challenges of a country in transition wear Makoto down.

"City of Baseball" is a documentary that explores both the past and the present of the Italian baseball league in the seaside resort of Nettuno near Rome.
